City Commissioner Nick Fish joins MBA member meeting

City Commissioner Nick Fish joined Midway Business Association members at their monthly meeting on Tuesday, August 14. Commissioner Fish spoke about his advocacy for small businesses, specifically in relation to his role helping create the Catalytic Investment Initiative. Launched in 2015, the Catalytic Investment Initiative provides critical resources to Midway and other East Portland Business Associations. These resources have allowed the Midway Business Association to hire staffing, plan and host events and business mixers, and create the MBA website which highlights member businesses in the district. As a guest speaker, Commissioner Fish also discussed his new role overseeing Portland Parks & Recreation, as well as his goal of helping ease the City's homeless issue.
