With a bit of ambition, a touch of Midway love and a tally of votes, Marsha Zimmerman was elected your Midway Business Association Board President in June. As she takes over the reins of a growing Board and active Business Association, we thought we’d help you all get to know her a little better. Here’s what we learned from the owner of MLK Property Management (2410 SE 122nd Ave, Ste #102):
What is your business and how long have you been connected to Midway? “I own M.L.K. Property Management and Support Services, LLC. I opened my business in October, 2014. I manage multifamily apartment homes and am licensed in Oregon.”
What makes working in the Midway Business District so great? “Midway is a great location for business as it is so central to both downtown and the Gorge, as well as natural areas like Powell Butte; or at least within a short commute or even bus ride.”
Why did you choose to join the Business Association and volunteer as a Board member? “I joined the Business Association as a way to network and find out about other businesses within the area, and hopefully gain their knowledge and wisdom about owning a small business.”
When you’re not working, what’s your favorite place to hang out in the District? I would have to say Whelan’s Irish Pub as it has the best food and best service. The owners are friendly and they get to know everyone’s name.”
If the Midway Business District had its own soundtrack, what would the theme song be? “Things Are Looking Up, by Ella Fitzgerald, because there are lots of exciting things coming to Midway.”
* Many thanks to Marsha for her service on the MBA Board, as well as the work she does managing M.L.K. Property Management.
